Graduated from the prestigious Aalto University in Finland with a degree in Architecture.

Jesper Jokilehto represents a new wave of Scandinavian architecture. Inspired by the work of Eero Saarinen, Peter Zumthor and Zaha Hadid, with their distinctive and complex geometry, he nevertheless remains deeply rooted in the traditions of the Nordic architectural school.

For Jesper, this means above all the organic nature of structures and a particular attention to materials — essential elements in creating a truly high-quality home and a genuinely comfortable living environment. At times, the architect is even ready to put aside his drawings and pick up an axe if that is what it takes to achieve perfection.

One of the most remarkable projects in Jokilehto’s career was the development of the Spaceveggies residential module concept for an astronauts’ base camp on Mars. The project won the Deployable Greenhouse category of NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge.

This is architecture on an entirely new level. The project team considered in meticulous detail not only the structural characteristics of an autonomous living environment, but also how to make it genuinely comfortable for long-term habitation. In essence, Spaceveggies is not simply a house, but a garden that simultaneously functions as a life-support system and as the foundation for creating a comfortable and familiar human environment.

Jesper Jokilehto’s portfolio also includes food-industry facilities, research institutions and other public buildings. Whatever the project, his approach remains consistent: meticulous attention to detail and materials combined with a willingness to experiment and explore new solutions in the pursuit of perfection.
