Tobias Tommila
Architect, Interior Designer, Designer, Carpenter
Tobias is an architect with extensive experience as a designer. Originally from Switzerland, he trained as a carpenter in 2000. He then continued his education and received a diploma in interior design with a focus on carpentry from HFTG Zug in 2005. Subsequently, he studied architecture at ETH Zurich, receiving his Master’s degree in 2012.
Tobias is also a partner at Atomexpo AG and Architects LSV. His projects are diverse, ranging from furniture and exhibition stand design to private and industrial design. He enjoys versatile projects and challenges that push his design skills.
Tobias always tries to see projects through the eyes of the client in order to create individual solutions. The location is equally important as a starting point, and the design often begins with an idea of the character of the building or space. Once it becomes clear what impression the building should create, he carefully develops its characteristics to achieve a sense of overall coherence.
Today, Tobias is at the peak of his creative career, full of ideas and a wide range of possible solutions. He enjoys experimenting with them and discovering those that form a harmonious whole. Tobias’s style is open and ready for experimentation, and through years of experience he has learned to understand and interpret the client through visual and structural means.
"However fine the line between fascinating and incoherent may be, it can be drawn." — Tobias
