Winter is the best time to harvest timber!

Proverb «make provision for a rainy day beforehand» is also applicable in construction. The nature is arranged in such a way that an active sap flow begins inside the tree in spring. Nutrients move from trunk to branches. They are attractive not only for a tree, but also for different microorganisms.

Those who harvests timber in summer will have to process it with antiseptics (chemistry), otherwise the wood will be subjected to deformation, rotting and may become unusable.

Our ancestors, by the way, believed that people who had cut down a living, not «sleeping» tree would be punished by the leshi. One more argument in favor of the winter forest :))

Winter – the best time to build a house!!!

The most dangerous misconceptions of future owners of wooden houses are that it's better to start building a wooden house in spring. Actually it's not quite right – even our ancestors knew that. It's better to build in winter as the wood has a lower humidity, there are no temperature changes, the wood doesn't get wet from the rain (dirt and slush can leave traces on the surface).

Winter is cleaner and whiter – your construction site will be clean. It’s a big advantage. A house will "sit down" smoother and denser, and it is the best time to equip it, to finish the interior and landscape design outside in spring and summer.

It’s also more comfortable for builders to work in winter – definitely not worse than under the sun. By the way at this time of the year most qualified teams are free. And a shortage of labor is inevitable at the beginning of spring.

What if construction is only possible in summer?

LUMI POLAR houses are made of high-quality timber from high-grade A and B timber (we only build houses from them) and can be built at any time of the year. But if you build of low-quality timber problems can be inevitable at any time of the year!
